The fighter jet was probably despatched as a matter of routine but the French do have form when it comes to encounters with meddlesome ships belonging to environmentalists. Wishful thinking, maybe, but it would be nice to believe that these two small reverses for the green movement signal the start of a more rational approach to the politics of environmental issues.
Alternatively, of course, it could be that the greenies have served their useful idiot purpose and are now surplus to the Bilderberger’s requirements. That day will come.
